* Dekovin Cann for making the Honor Roll. He along with Chendrick Cann were chosen as baseball
all-stars.
* We welcome to our Sims-Gant family Kamijah Jalia Ishmael, daughter of KJ Ishmael, granddaughter of
Estacia Williams, and great granddaughter of Arthur Mach Williams was born on March 7, 2008, weighing
7lbs. 8oz. She is said to look just like her dad.

We took the DNA test for the Sims. The
tests were inconclusive which is why the
results are taking so long. As a result the
DNA sample will be run through the
Backbone SNP test free of charge. The
other DNA test for the Gants has not been
done as of yet because we wanted to see
the results from the first one before we
invested in another.
Cynthia has another project in the works
and would like for all family members to
send her pictures of family members and
their parents who served in the armed
forces.

The Cann family sadly announces the passing of our dear friend and Khamari
Cann’s mother, LaShanda Pettus “Shanda”. Shanda was born November 23,
1974 and died on June 17, 2008. Shanda loved the Sims-Gant family as much
as she loved her own. Even if she had to skip work, she would not be denied
the opportunity to share moments with us. Shanda, with her bright smile will be
sadly missed.
